On the occasion of Guy Ben-Ner’s new commissioned film for Performa 09, Artis invites you to an exclusive conversation with Ben-Ner and Jon Kessler, Monday November 2 at 7pm at the Performa Hub (The Cooper Union, 41 Cooper Square, NY).
In his newest film, “Untitled” (2009), Ben-Ner documents 25 trips between Tel Aviv and Berlin over the course of a year as he works through relationships with his family in one city and his girlfriend in the other. Creating a performance as “live film,” the artist films and edits in-camera an ongoing phone conversation with himself as his life unfolds. Introduced by Performa Founder and Director RoseLee Goldberg, Ben-Ner and his former teacher Jon Kessler will engage in lively conversation about this and his other recent films.
An 8pm opening party and launch of Programma Magazine with drinks and food courtesy of Pera Mediterranean Brasserie, Yarden Wines and Voss Water to follow. Special thanks to The Cooper Union. RSVP required to info@artisrael.org.
